W. Brooks
Dies at 74
A former Low, que., hotel
keeper, Wyman W. Brooks died
Wednesday at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. James Wright of
1045 Normandie Crescent, after
a lengthy illness. He was 74.
Mr. Brooks had operated a hotel
at Low for 45 years, retiring in
1938.
He was born and educated
in Low, a son of the late George
Brooks and his wife, the former
Isabel Wilson. He married the
former Matilda Jackson at Low
in 1912. She died in 1950.
Nr. Brooks was a member of
Low United Church.
Surviving are, a son James
of Timmons; a daughter, Mrs.
James Wright of Ottawa; three
brothers, Gordon of North Bay,
Fred of Ottawa and Joseph of
Eskbank, Sask.; three sisters,
Mrs. William Irwin of Low, Mrs.
H. L. Morrison and Mrs. Edith
Pollard of Ottawa.
The body is resting at the
Radmore Stewart Funeral Home,
1323 Wellington Street, where
the funeral service will be held
in the chapel Saturday at 11
a.m. Rev. George Connolly will
officiate. Burial will be made
in Pinecrest Cemetery.
