Notes for Anne HEENEY

Born on the family farm in Huntley Township of Carleton County, a few miles west of Ottawa, Ontario, on Dec.1 1846. Anne spent her early childhood and her school years in Huntley Township and then moved to the shores of Danford Lake, Quebec in the 1860's. It was in the Gatinue that she met John Irwin of Wakefield. They were married on November 16, 1864.

After their marriage, John and Anne settled in Kazabazua, Quebec. The Irwin family according to the early census records were Weslyan Methodists in religios conviction, but after the Heeney's organized and built Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Danford Corners, Anne and John Irwin attended church at Holy Trinity.
